Raymond Kumah, a key member of the Bawumia for President 2024 campaign, has spotlighted the profound impact of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s regional tours.
In an interview on Accra 100.5 FM’s Ghana Yensom morning show, hosted by Odehyeeba Kofi Essuman on Friday, June 14, 2024, Mr. Kumah conveyed his optimism that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is well-positioned to break the eight-year political cycle in Ghana.
He noted that the Vice President’s extensive tours across all sixteen regions have reinforced the party’s aspirations for the upcoming December 7, 2024, elections. He praised the house-to-house campaign strategy, meet-and-greet sessions, and engagements with special interest groups as highly effective in enhancing the campaign’s reach and impact.
“The strategy is proving to be immensely beneficial for the campaign,”
Mr. Kumah stated, referring to Dr. Bawumia’s recent tour of the Ashanti Region. He refuted allegations that the NPP has been transporting supporters to campaign events, asserting that the widespread enthusiasm is both genuine and organic.
He also commended Dr. Bawumia’s unwavering focus and resilience, undeterred by what he described as “shenanigans” from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the lead-up to the general elections. He predicted that the strong support in the Ashanti Region could result in an overwhelming 88 percent vote for the NPP.
During the tours, special groups expressed their support for Dr. Bawumia’s proposal to overhaul the country’s tax system, including the implementation of a tax amnesty for business owners. Kumah’s comments highlight the campaign’s strategic initiatives and confidence in securing a decisive victory for the NPP.
