The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Richard Ahiagbah, has highlighted a significant contrast between the presidential candidates’ plans for the Savannah Region.
According to Mr. Ahiagbah, NPP’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has committed to establishing a university in the region, a promise that stands in stark contrast to former President John Dramani Mahama’s lack of such plans for his home region.
In a statement, Mr. Ahiagbah urged Ghanaians, particularly those in Gonjaland, to support Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming elections due to his development agenda for the region.
Bawumia’s commitment to building a university in the Savannah Region is significant,” Mr. Ahiagbah stated. “This pledge follows his successful creation of the Savannah Region, a feat that eluded Mahama during his tenure. It’s clear that Bawumia’s vision for development in Gonjaland is unmatched.
Dr. Bawumia, who commenced his campaign tour of the Savannah Region on Wednesday, May 15, has received commendation from regional leaders for his respectful conduct during the campaign. The President of the North East Regional House of Chiefs, Ndugna Nayiri Naa Bohugu Abdulai Sheriga, praised Dr. Bawumia for his civility and urged him to continue in the same vein throughout the campaign.
