Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate of the New Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate, has cautioned voters in Afram Plains North, located in the Eastern Region, against supporting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the upcoming elections.
He asserted that continued support for the NDC would hinder the progress of Donkorkrom. Dr. Prempeh criticized the NDC for its lack of genuine dedication to the region’s development, stating that any vote cast for the party would be essentially futile.
While addressing chiefs, community members, Zongo leaders, and party supporters, he underscored that only the NPP genuinely prioritizes the welfare of Ghanaians.
In addition, he highlighted that despite the significant votes the NDC has received in previous elections, the party has consistently overlooked the needs of the area during its time in power. Dr. Prempeh expressed his dissatisfaction with the NDC’s perceived neglect of the people of Afram Plains.
The running mate of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emphasized that the NPP has demonstrated a commitment to inclusivity and non-discrimination. As part of his campaign activities, Dr. Prempeh also inaugurated the District Road Improvement Project (DRIP) machinery in Afram Plains North.
During the inauguration, he urged the residents to cast their votes in favor of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate, on December 7.
He stressed that this choice is vital for sustaining the ongoing development of both the constituency and the nation. The introduction of the DRIP machinery, he noted, reflects Dr. Bawumia’s dedication to infrastructure enhancement and economic advancement.
NAPO emphasized that casting a vote for Dr. Bawumia represents a choice for a leader committed to advancing Ghana through the implementation of transformative policies aimed at fostering the nation’s development.
Jeffery Ohene Konadu, the Eastern Regional Chairman of the NPP, urged the local chiefs and residents to reconsider their stance and support the NPP in the upcoming election.
He expressed his disappointment over being denied entry to parliament in 2012, despite his local roots, which hindered the progress of necessary developments. Nevertheless, he remains dedicated to supporting the parliamentary candidate in efforts to bring essential advancements to the region.
