DORMAAHENE TELLS BAWUMIA: AGENDA 111 WILL BOOST HEALTHCARE INFRASTRUCTURE

The Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Council, Osagyefuo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, has expressed renewed confidence in the government’s Agenda 111 initiative, aimed at enhancing healthcare infrastructure in the area.

Initially, there were doubts about the program, but the chief noted that the government’s dedication and ongoing progress had eased these concerns. He emphasized the potential of Agenda 111 to significantly improve healthcare services in Dormaa, benefiting the well-being of the local community.

Osagyefuo Badu made these remarks when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, paid a courtesy visit to his palace last Wednesday. As part of the visit, Dr. Bawumia, who also serves as the Vice-President, engaged the chief and his elders in a stakeholder forum, discussing key developmental challenges facing the region.

During the meeting, Osagyefuo Badu, who also leads the Bono House of Chiefs, raised the topic of the “One-District, One-Factory” project in Dormaa East and advocated for more development initiatives to be introduced in the region. He also extended his support to Dr. Bawumia’s presidential bid, wishing him success in his efforts to lead the nation.

Furthermore, the chief highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between traditional leaders and the government to advance projects that reflect the community’s needs. Addressing environmental concerns, Osagyefuo Badu strongly condemned illegal mining (galamsey) and called on the government to take decisive steps to eliminate the practice, emphasizing the need for sustainable measures to protect natural resources for future generations.

“My Vice-President, while we chiefs refrain from active politics, as your spokesperson Dr. Gideon Boako mentioned, we cannot ignore the numerous development interventions your government has brought to Ghana and Dormaa. Here in Dormaa, we have seen road improvements and even my palace has benefited from asphalt,” he stated.
