In a stirring address at the 70th anniversary of the National Cadet Corps and Cadet Youth Parade, held at the iconic Black Star Square, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emphasized the pivotal role of the Cadet Corps in national development and security.
As the reviewing officer for the event, Dr. Bawumia lauded the efforts and contributions of the Cadet Corps, underscoring the significant impact the organization has had on youth development and national stability.
Dr. Bawumia advocated including Cadet Corps members in the nation’s security services recruitment processes. He proposed that these organizations should allocate quotas and provide opportunities for these young talents when it comes to enlisting in the various security services.
Our security agencies stand to benefit immensely from the disciplined and well-trained individuals emerging from the Cadet Corps, By giving them a quota and the opportunity to join, we are not only recognizing their efforts but also strengthening our national security framework
The Vice President also took the opportunity to commend the youth of Ghana for their unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the country. He expressed confidence in their ability to continue this tradition, particularly as the nation approaches the 2024 General Elections.
