The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, also known as Chairman Wontumi, has endorsed Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) as the ideal duo for the upcoming 2024 general elections.
On Thursday, July 4, the National Council of the NPP officially announced Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the running mate for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Chairman Wontumi reiterated his unwavering support for the pair, labeling them as a “remarkable team” and expressing his confidence in their ability to lead the NPP to victory in the 2024 general elections.
During an interview with our news team in Kumasi at the NPP parliamentary primary in Manhyia South, Chairman Wontumi underscored the strengths and leadership qualities of Bawumia and Opoku Prempeh, underscoring their aptitude to steer the party.
The NPP has an excellent ticket, and we’re going to win with this ticket on 7th December 2024, that’s the news. The feeling is good, they make a very good pair, and they are going to win.
He mentioned that the party is confident they will secure a majority in the upcoming polls in order to carry on the positive initiatives of the NPP government. He urged Ghanaians to oppose former President John Mahama as he lacks beneficial contributions for the country.
