DR. BAWUMIA ANNOUNCES ARRIVAL OF NURSING TRAINEE ALLOWANCES NEXT WEEK

The Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flag bearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has announced that the outstanding nursing trainee allowances for 2024 will be released on Thursday, May 16, 2024. These payments will be made to nursing and teacher trainees nationwide.

The allowances, reinstated by the Akufo-Addo administration after being discontinued by the previous Mahama government, have experienced delays for several months. During a significant youth engagement event in Nalerigu, North East Region, attended by many nursing and teacher trainees, Dr. Bawumia shared this update, receiving enthusiastic applause.

Regarding the nursing trainee allowances, Dr. Bawumia announced that they have reached a decision to proceed this Thursday, eliciting cheers from the crowd.

The Minister of Finance informed me that on Thursday, the Controller and Accountant General will transfer 177 million Ghana Cedis to the Ministry of Health, which will then distribute it to the nursing trainees.

Dr. Bawumia’s assurance brought palpable relief to the audience as he confidently told the people that they will receive the allowance by next week, eliciting a sense of optimism and gratitude among the attendees.

Insha’Allah, by next week, all nursing trainee allowances should be deposited into your accounts.

He also took the opportunity to remind the youth and trainees that the NPP has consistently demonstrated its commitment to supporting nursing and teacher trainees, unlike the previous Mahama-led NDC government, through its pro-poor policies.
