DR. BAWUMIA BEGINS OTI REGION CAMPAIGN TOUR ON 31ST MAY

The ruling New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) vice-president and presidential candidate, Mahamudu Bawumia, has scheduled a visit to the Oti Region on Friday, 31 May, as part of his campaign strategy to engage with the grassroots.

During this visit, the vice president will have the opportunity to interact with various stakeholders in the region. Evans Dapaah, the NPP Oti regional chairman, expressed the party’s readiness to warmly receive the second gentleman of the land in the region, in an interview with Asaase News.

According to the chairman, these interactions will provide a platform for the NPP’s presidential candidate to articulate his vision and aspirations for Ghana. This will enable party sympathizers and followers to align themselves with the vision for a better Ghana.

If Ghana could be better than this, then it will take the efforts of the Vice-President, Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, who carries the vision and what it takes to transform the country through many of his visions.”

I want to urge all citizens in the Oti region, both inside and outside, to award the NPP massive votes come the general election. The NDC could not do anything for the people of the Oti Region, but, just within these few years, the NPP has transformed the Oti Region through, infrastructure, roads, schools, and initiatives, just to name a few. I strongly believe that Oti Region will be better than this if the party is voted for in the coming general election for more development.

Dapaah emphasized that the NDC lacks superior strategies for the residents of Volta and Oti Region, thus urging everyone to unite in support of the transformative NPP party.

Under the able leadership of President Akufo Addo, the Oti Region has seen good roads, educational transformation, and infrastructure, among other things the party intends to do when voted to break the right.

In the meantime, while conversing with several residents prior to Bawumia’s tour, they expressed their dissatisfaction with the commitments made by the president during his initial trip to the Oti Region in 2021.

The president had assured them that he would build a bridge across the River Oti, which he claimed would be his lasting achievement. However, up until now, there has been no indication or effort to persuade them to support the party once more and retain their power.

Some individuals have also expressed their opinion that the yam processing factory, which the president visited at Ado-Nkwanta, has become an unproductive venture, causing significant hardships for the local residents.

According to them, when the factory was in good working condition, it had the potential to provide employment opportunities for numerous young people and generate jobs for them. However, their aspirations have been dashed.

The presidential candidate will commence their tour in the Volta region on Thursday, 30th May of this year, and subsequently proceed to the Oti Region. These individuals are urging President Akufo Addo to fulfill his promises before focusing on Vice President Bawumia.

Consequently, the party has called upon all its supporters to turn out in large numbers and provide unwavering support to the presidential candidate.
