Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia has called on Ghanaians to believe in the nation’s manifest destiny and work together to achieve it, emphasizing the vital role of faith-based organizations (FBOs) in national development.
Speaking at the Second Biennial Joint Conference of the East, West, and Mid-Ghana of the AME Zion Church at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa Fetteh, Dr. Bawumia stressed the importance of collective ownership of Ghana’s vision. He urged FBOs to collaborate with the government to steer the nation toward its desired future.
Reflecting on the conference theme, “The Freedom Church: Securing our Future,” Dr. Bawumia highlighted the need for visionary leadership and dedicated citizens to craft and achieve national goals. He encouraged Ghanaians to maintain faith in the future despite recent economic challenges, urging deliberate action to preserve and secure the nation’s future.
Dr. Bawumia also challenged Christians to complement their prayers with diligent work, personal cleanliness, and environmental respect, advocating for accountability at all levels of leadership. He praised the AME Zion Church for its contributions to healthcare, education, social justice, and its efforts within the Christian Council of Ghana.
Expressing confidence in Ghana’s potential for greatness, Dr. Bawumia emphasized that unity and open dialogue are key to accelerated national development, asserting that each individual has a divine role in building the nation.
