This morning in Accra, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia delivered the keynote address of the 14th Commonwealth Regional Conference and Annual General Meeting of Heads of Anti-Corruption Agencies in Africa.
Dr. Bawumia underscored the important role of digitalization in the fight against corruption, and also highlighted how the digitalization of Ghana’s public service delivery is promoting transparency and helping in the fight against corruption.
With the significant strides Ghana has made in digitalization, Dr. Bawumia also spoke of plans by his government, by the grace of God, to adopt blockchain technology to ensure that all data and transactions in the government space are transparent and tamper-proof that, no one can change them.
This could make Ghana the first blockchain-powered government in Africa.
