Vice President and NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia today spent the joy of his birthday with the Weija Leprosarium in Accra.
As the founder of the Ghana Lepers Council, Dr. Bawumia usually celebrates his birthday and other significant events with the Leprosarium’s patients, and today, on his 61st birthday, he did not forget them. On behalf of the Vice President, a delegation headed by Ben Abdallah Banda, Chairman of the Hajj Board, made the presentation.
A bull, 50 boxes of biscuits, 20 cartons of tin tomatoes, 20 boxes of oil, 100 cartons of water, and 100 bags of rice were donated by the NPP presidential candidate.
Additionally, Dr. Bawumia handed them GHC 61,000 in honor of his 61 years of age.
Rev. Father Andrew Campbell, who received the items, conveyed the Leprosarium’s sincere appreciation to Dr. Bawumia for “continually remembering us.”
Father Campbell also honored Dr. Bawumia for his unwavering support of the leprosiaum both as an organization and as an individual, notably for helping a girl get specialized medical care overseas.
“We cannot thank him enough for what he always does for us. Always on his birthday and other important occasions, he remembers us. We thank him so much.”
