DR. BAWUMIA DONATES TO ORPHANS IN THE ZONGO COMMUNITIES

The Vice-President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has through the head of operations at his office, Alhaji Ismaela Ibrahim, donated sets of neatly sewn dresses worth GH¢25,000 to 85 orphans drawn from the various Zongo vicinities at Akyem Oda.

The donation of dresses to orphans during the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration was made by the Headmaster of Nkawkaw Senior High School, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammed, at a ceremony held at the Oda central mosque last Wednesday. Alhaji Ibrahim emphasized that the Vice-President was deeply concerned about the well-being of orphans, hence the gesture.

He encouraged the orphans to prioritize both Islamic and secular education to benefit from the free Senior High School system and become responsible leaders in the future. Furthermore, Alhaji Ibrahim mentioned that Alhaji Ishmaela had assured of providing additional financial and material support to the orphans to ensure they can complete their education.

The Birim Central Municipal Chief Imam, Alhaji Nuhu Mohammed Abdalla, who oversaw the dress presentation, expressed his gratitude towards the Vice President and Alhaji Ishmaela for their generous donation. He emphasized the importance of the benefactors also meeting the educational needs of the orphans to ensure their successful development and the nurturing of their talents.

The Chief Imam prayed for Allah’s guidance and success for the Vice-President and Alhaji Ishmaela in all their endeavors. He took the opportunity to advise the orphans to be disciplined, respectful, and dedicated to their studies so that they can contribute meaningfully to the nation’s reconstruction program as they grow up.
