Dr. Bawumia has emphasized the party’s remarkable strides in healthcare as proof of its commitment to transforming Ghana.
Speaking at the NPP’s final rally, dubbed the “Possibilities Victory Rally,” at the University of Ghana Stadium in Accra, Dr. Bawumia spotlighted the government’s healthcare innovations and infrastructure improvements over the past eight years.
When we came into government, the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) was collapsing under a cash-and-carry system.
Today, we’ve revitalized it, cleared most of its debts, and expanded it to cover essential services like sickle cell treatment and free kidney dialysis.
He also highlighted the government’s One Constituency, One Ambulance program, which has increased the number of ambulances in Ghana from just 37 to 307, significantly improving emergency healthcare delivery.
Additionally, he mentioned the introduction of medical drones to deliver medicines and blood to remote areas, a system he described as a “game changer” for equitable healthcare access.
These are not just policies; they are life-saving interventions.
Dr. Bawumia said, reiterating that the NPP’s approach to governance is grounded in solving real problems for Ghanaians.
The NPP flag bearer contrasted his party’s healthcare achievements with the record of his main opponent, John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He challenged Mr. Mahama to name a single nationwide initiative from his tenure that significantly improved healthcare.
Dr. Bawumia urged Ghanaians to vote for the NPP to continue the progress made in healthcare and other sectors.
The choice is clear: do we build on these achievements and move into the future, or return to a past of broken systems and missed opportunities?.
The rally, attended by thousands of enthusiastic supporters clad in the NPP’s red, white, and blue colors, marked the end of the party’s 2024 campaign. With just days to the election, Dr. Bawumia’s message focused on the NPP’s vision of a healthier, more innovative Ghana.
