President Nana Akufo-Addo has conveyed his strong belief that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the most suitable candidate to succeed him and propel Ghana towards progress.
During his visit to the Ahafo Region on Tuesday, October 29, President Akufo-Addo underscored that Dr. Bawumia embodies the essential qualities required to advance Ghana, reaffirming his confidence in the vice president’s vision and leadership capabilities.
The President reiterated his dedication to the future of Ghana, expressing his determination to ensure that the nation’s development remains in the hands of a competent leader.
He asserted that only Dr. Bawumia, with his commitment and proven experience, possesses the necessary qualifications to steer Ghana’s developmental course, contrasting him with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
In reference to Mr. Mahama’s administration from 2012 to 2016, President Akufo-Addo contended that the former president’s tenure revealed significant shortcomings in leadership and economic governance.
According to President Akufo-Addo, Mahama’s time in office was characterized by difficulties that highlighted his failure to achieve the growth and stability that Ghana requires.
The President encouraged the people of the Ahafo Region to unite in support of Dr. Bawumia and urged them to vote decisively in favor of the vice president’s vision.
He emphasized that Bawumia’s leadership would guarantee the continuity of Ghana’s developmental journey and called upon Ghanaians to endorse this vision for the nation’s progress.
As I am about to leave, I have one plea as you all know if every president is about to leave office, he cares about who is succeeding him. My plea is that the only person who can continue the work I have done and move Ghana forward and take Ghana to the advanced stage, I believe it is my Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and this is my plea is that you people should support Dr Bawumia to be elected as the next president of this country.
I can vouch for his capabilities and his ability to lead the country, and I will not leave Ghana for someone who can’t do the job. God will not allow that to happen.
Dr Bawumia was the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana when I brought him into politics. When I first picked him in 2008 even though we lost the polls, I kept faith with him and kept for the 2012 election which we also lost but God being so good, we won the 2016 election and I have not seen any bad thing from him since I first met him.
