In his address at the Bawumia Hosts the Media event held at the Movenpick Hotel in Accra on Sunday, August 25, 2024,Dr. Bawumia emphasized the NPP’s intention to run a campaign distinguished by its focus on ideas and constructive dialogue, rather than divisive tactics.
Dr. Bawumia affirmed the party’s dedication to presenting clear and effective policy proposals. He further pledged that the NPP will conduct its campaign with respect and integrity, aiming to foster a democratic environment
Our party is determined to pitch our ideas as we have always done, and to demonstrate the superiority of our ideas over and above what any other party can offer.
I pledge that the NPP is to run a campaign of ideas and to conduct ourselves in a manner worthy of a democratic group
Addressing concerns about potential unrest and violence, Dr. Bawumia made it clear that such actions are contrary to Ghanaian values and emphasized the importance of maintaining peace throughout the electoral process. He stated:
Our main goal is that at the end of the contest, we carry on with our lives, secure in the knowledge that there is work to do, work to sustain the rebounding economy. To those who threaten war, mayhem, and violence, my message to them is that this isn’t Ghanaian.
He concluded with a reminder of Ghana’s enduring legacy, reinforcing his commitment to a peaceful and prosperous future for the nation. Dr. Bawumia’s remarks highlight his commitment to advancing the NPP’s policy agenda while upholding democratic values and ensuring a peaceful electoral process.
