DR. BAWUMIA PLEDGES COMMITMENT TO EDUCATION IN UPPER EAST REGION

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has outlined his vision for enhancing the education sector in the Upper East Region during his recent campaign tour.

Educational Reforms

Addressing a durbar in Tongo, Dr. Bawumia announced his plans to convert the uncompleted Yameriga Community Day Senior High School (SHS) into a College of Education.

“We are going to complete the E-Block and add additional facilities and subsequently convert it into a college of education to train the needed teachers for the region to improve the standard of education,”

he said.

Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of improving educational infrastructure and resources to ensure better outcomes for students in the region.

“I believe that the establishment of the college of education will go a long way to transform the education sector in the area and the region as a whole,”

he added.

Commitment to Progress

The NPP flagbearer reiterated his commitment to prioritizing education if elected as President, aiming to bring substantial improvements and reforms to the sector. His pledge to enhance educational facilities and provide better training for teachers is part of his broader vision for Ghana’s development.

Historic Election

Dr. Bawumia also highlighted the historic nature of the upcoming election, with both leading political parties presenting northerners as their presidential candidates. He urged Ghanaians to vote for him to ensure an eight-year term of progressive governance, contrasting it with the potential four-year term of his main opponent, former President John Dramani Mahama.
