Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to the residents of Kumawu that he will upgrade the town to municipal status if elected.

The declaration was made following a request from the Chief of Kumawu, Barima Tweneboa Kodua, who welcomed Dr. Bawumia during a campaign visit on Sunday, November 17.

I will be the President who is going to give Kumawu a municipal status. You have made a strong case for that, and I want to assure you that it will happen under my presidency by the grace of God.

I know the establishment of a nursing training college is dear to you. I am happy to announce that the nursing training college has been approved. For the accreditation, we will ensure it is expedited for the project to take off.

The announcement was met with enthusiasm by both residents and traditional leaders, who conveyed their hope regarding the significant changes that the proposed initiatives could bring.

Dr. Bawumia reiterated his commitment to delivering on his promises, highlighting the essential importance of educational and governance reforms in promoting a thriving Ghana.
