The Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has assured the youth of Ghana that he will support their entrepreneurial ventures and Small and Medium Scale Enterprises (SMEs) if he is elected into office.
During his address in celebration of this year’s International Youth Day, Dr. Bawumia conveyed his belief that such support will equip over one million young individuals in the nation with essential skills.
He highlighted the government’s digital initiatives as pivotal in fostering growth and development within the country. Dr. Bawumia referenced significant government initiatives, including mobile money interoperability and the implementation of drone technology.
He also mentioned the introduction of a credit system as part of his agenda upon assuming power. Concerns regarding access to loans for startups and SMEs have been a significant challenge.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized the critical role of the youth in the process of nation-building and pledged to equip more than one million young people with skills for digital employment opportunities.
On this International Youth Day, I want to assure you government will listen to your concerns and ideas, we will advocate for your rights and interest, support initiative that will promote you to develop, empower and strength you, to provide more opportunities for the youth.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Mohammed Yusif, has assured the youth of Ghana that they will have access to increased opportunities.
We must ensure that every person in Ghana, regardless of their background will have access to skills, I must echo that the government of Ghana is committed to develop skills of young people.
