The Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs has expressed its gratitude towards Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for being the inaugural dignitary and non-member of Asanteman to grace the Regional House of Chiefs with his presence.
Daasebre Osei Bonsu II, who extended a warm welcome to Dr. Bawumia and his campaign team on behalf of the Asantehene Otumfour Osei Tutu, conveyed the overwhelming admiration of the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs for Bawumia’s demeanor.

The NPP’s flagbearer has initiated a nationwide tour titled “Bold Solutions for the Future” in his quest to lead the nation, having already visited 15 Regions.
Starting today, on June 10, 2024, Dr Bawumia has embarked on a 3-day campaign tour in the Ashanti region. During the first day of his tour, Dr Bawumia’s schedule includes meetings with the clergy and Muslim leaders in the afternoon at the Kumasi Central Mosque.
Following this, he will also meet with traders at the Kumasi Central Market. To conclude the first day of his campaign activities, the NPP flagbearer will hold meetings with various professional bodies at the True Vine Hotel.
These bodies include the Ghana Medical Association, Ghana Bar Association, Ghana Journalists Association, University Teachers Association of Ghana, Ghana National Association of Teachers, National Association of Graduate Teachers, and Coalition of Concerned Teachers.
Additionally, Dr Bawumia will also engage with the Ghana Institute of Architects, Ghana Institute of Engineers, Ghana Institute of Surveyors, Ghana Association of Society of Medical Physics, Nurses and Midwifery Association, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ghana, and the Ghana Institute of Planning, among others.
