In a calculated effort to engage with local communities, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the 2024 Presidential Candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), is preparing to initiate the second phase of his community engagement tour in the Eastern Region from August 9 to 11, 2024.
This three-day tour will see Dr. Bawumia visiting three significant constituencies within the region, where he will interact with stakeholders, party affiliates, and residents. On the first day, Dr. Bawumia will travel to the Nsawam-Adoagyiri constituency, accompanied by the area’s Parliamentary Candidate and current MP, Frank Annoh-Dompreh.
This constituency holds considerable importance for the NPP, and Dr. Bawumia’s presence is anticipated to rally support for the party. Following this, Dr. Bawumia will proceed to the Ayensuano constituency, where he will explore various parts of the area alongside the parliamentary candidate, Ida Adjoa Asiedu.
This constituency was historically a stronghold for the NPP until it was won by the NDC in the 2020 general elections, and Dr. Bawumia’s outreach aims to reclaim it for the NPP.
The final segment of the tour will take him to the Suhum Constituency, where he will tour the area with the parliamentary candidate, Frank Asiedu Bekoe, also known as Protozoa. Suhum is a vital constituency for the NPP, and Dr. Bawumia’s visit is expected to reinforce the party’s support in the area.
The Eastern Region represents a crucial battleground for the upcoming 2024 presidential election, with 33 constituencies at stake, of which the NPP currently holds 26 parliamentary seats. Last week, Dr. Bawumia visited the Akropong, Upper Manya Krobo, Asuogyaman, Okere, Akuapem South, Yilo Krobo, and Lower Manya Krobo constituencies, respectively.
Dr. Bawumia’s community engagement tour is a strategic initiative aimed at connecting with the residents of the region, addressing their concerns, and highlighting the NPP’s accomplishments and plans for the area.
Through this tour, Dr. Bawumia seeks to establish a robust grassroots network, galvanize support for the NPP, and affirm his dedication to the region’s development.
