Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to establish mechanization centers in each district to enhance agricultural productivity nationwide.
He emphasized that more than 60 percent of Ghana’s population is engaged in farming, asserting that the nation’s advancement is contingent upon significant improvements in agriculture through sustainable measures.
The Vice President made these remarks in Adabokrom, the capital of the Bia East district, during his three-day campaign tour of the Western North Region.
Dr. Bawumia elaborated that the mechanization centers would provide tractors and other agricultural equipment to farmers, thereby facilitating increased local yields.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has done a lot for this country, and I have prepared myself to take up the mantle to continue the good works of the President.
He therefore urged the electorate to cast their votes in large numbers for him as the next President and for Nicholas Yayin Niper as the next Member of Parliament for Bia East, emphasizing the need for ongoing and accelerated development in the region.
Nana Afua Henewaa, the Queen Mother of Adabokrom, on behalf of the traditional leaders, praised the government for its extensive infrastructure initiatives in the area.
The Queen Mother expressed her appreciation for the government’s cocoa rehabilitation program and requested the Vice President to ensure the timely completion of the Agenda 111 projects in Adabokrom. Additionally, she urged Dr. Bawumia to establish an agricultural college in the region if he is elected as president on December 7.
