The Member of Parliament for Manhyia North, Akwasi Konadu, has actively engaged in the New Patriotic Party’s campaign within the constituency to promote their presidential candidate, Vice President Mahamadu Bawumia.
In addition, he has initiated efforts to educate voters on the proper use of the ballot sheet. Konadu is currently touring significant communities in the Manhyia North Constituency, where he engages directly with registered voters to persuade them that Dr. Bawumia is the ideal candidate for the upcoming election on December 7.
During an appearance on the Ghanakoma Morning Show on Akoma 87.9FM in Kumasi with Sir John, Akwasi Konadu, who also serves as the Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, urged the public to turn out in large numbers to support the ruling NPP in the forthcoming elections.
He noted that he has dedicated time to various constituencies, including Krofrom, Buokrom, Moshie Zongo, and Duase, where he not only promoted the NPP candidate but also conducted practical and interactive sessions to guide registered voters on how to correctly cast their votes without invalidating their ballots.
He emphasized that the Constitution of Ghana belongs to all citizens, not exclusively to Christians.
If you say you are a Christian and so you cannot vote for a Muslim to be president, then you are not practicing Christianity.
He expressed that Dr. Bawumia possesses an exceptional ability to connect and engage with everyone, assuring that he will serve as a president for all, without any form of discrimination.
The Member of Parliament for Manhyia North also revealed plans to initiate a significant walk tomorrow aimed at increasing support for the NPP. This walk will commence at Duase, proceeding through Buokrom, Moshie Zongo, and Airport Roundabout, ultimately concluding at Krofrom. He urged the public to reject religious intolerance and to accept all leaders, irrespective of their religious beliefs.
He emphasized that religious divisions should not dictate the selection of a president in the upcoming elections. He called upon voters to prioritize the election of a leader endowed with the wisdom and courage necessary to propel Ghana forward, referencing the Free Senior High School (SHS) initiative as a testament to the bold leadership demonstrated by the NPP government.
He reiterated Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to serve as a ‘husband’ and a ‘son’ to widows, as well as a ‘brother’ to orphans, pledging to address their needs upon his ascension to the presidency.
To the widows, Dr. Bawumia says he will be your husband, and for those without children, he will be your son, and for those without brothers, he will be your brother. This is a covenant between him and you.
Your husband Bawumia has ‘married’ all of you and would be there for you.
He highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s integrity and genuine commitment to the welfare of the Ghanaian populace, particularly the youth, and encouraged voters to support all parliamentary candidates from the NPP.
He also reminded the electorate of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s clean and unblemished record, as well as his willingness to elevate the nation to new levels of success.
