DRIVERS FOR DR. BAWUMIA HIT THE STREETS TO CAMPAIGN IN KUMASI

Two organizations, the Drivers for NPP Association and the Friendly Driver Campaign Team engaged in a campaign for Dr. Bawumia on Saturday, focusing on bus stops and lorry terminals throughout the Ashanti Region.

During their outreach, they visited the Abrepo markets, lorry terminals, and taxi stations in Mamponteng and Meduma, where they engaged with driver unions and passengers to emphasize the importance of voting for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the forthcoming elections.

Maxwell Owusu Akoto, the lead convener of the Drivers for NPP Association, distributed flyers, stickers, and branded T-shirts featuring Dr. Bawumia and Dr. Napo to driver unions.

He highlighted that the NPP has significantly improved the road conditions in Ashanti, thereby alleviating the challenges drivers and passengers face.

The NPP government, under Nana Addo and Dr Bawumia, has ensured that Ashanti roads are upgraded and made motorable for drivers so that they do not suffer breakdowns and regular maintenance that were previously occasioned by bad road networks. With this, passengers enjoy their rides.

In an address to the media, Hon Kwadwo Baah Agyemang, the initiator of the Drivers for NPP Association project and Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Digital Centres Limited, articulated that the initiative aims to bolster the campaign of Dr. Bawumia.

He emphasized that the NPP flag-bearer has exhibited a range of competencies during his tenure as Vice President, positioning him as a capable leader for the presidency of Ghana.

Hon Agyemang expressed confidence that Dr. Bawumia possesses the ability to deliver innovative solutions and instill hope among the Ghanaian populace, given his pivotal role in advancing digitalization and technological initiatives in the country.

I am a promoter of this idea and initiative and we aim at getting drivers and passengers to appreciate the work NPP has done including ensuring that no driver queued to buy fuel as happened during the NDC era. The NPP has also upgraded all roads in the country, especially Ashanti for the comfort of drivers and passengers.

On behalf of the driver unions at Meduma Lorry Station, Mr. Charles Ofori expressed gratitude to the NPP Group for their generous donation of t-shirts, banners, and stickers.

He acknowledged the positive contributions of the NPP, particularly highlighting the recent asphalting of the previously impassable Meduma roads.

The Chairman stated that the driver unions at Meduma would don the Bawumia t-shirts and utilize their platform to inform the public about the importance of voting to extend the mandate of the NPP and its parliamentary candidates.

We are committed to doing our part to support the candidature of Dr Bawumia because we are beneficiaries of the NPP policies including free SHS education and the construction of good roads.
