The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has urged the chiefs, religious leaders, and the youth of Dzodze in the Ketu North Constituency to place their trust in him to address their issues.
The community is facing significant challenges related to water supply, road infrastructure, and insufficient support for its rice production endeavors. During his visit to Dzodze as part of his tour of the Volta Region, Dr. Bawumia promised to resolve these issues if they choose to vote for him.
I will give you technical and vocational school … we have state-of-the-art equipment we need to bring some to the school here.
The town roads are another major problem that we need to address as quickly as possible. The water treatment facilities and also basically most of the Ketu North communities lack water, our population has really outgrown the community.
We need to bring in Ghana Water and expand the water facilities, including water treatment. The population has outgrown what was done initially.
He stated that during his presidency, he would establish a mechanized system to enhance rice production.
By the grace of God if I become president my number one priority will be agriculture because sixty percent of our population are farmers so if agriculture doesn’t do well our economy cannot do well. We need to support our farmers with the proper seeds, with the proper fertilizer and with irrigation.
So far as I know, Ketu North you are the highest rice producers here in Ghana. We can get more production, we can back up our farmers with technology we can back them with equipment we can back them with finance.
There is no reason why we should be importing rice to Ghana, there is no reason why we should be importing tomatoes into Ghana, we have the land we have the water we should be able to do that, and I am going to focus on technology.
