EDUCATION POLICIES

Under the Great Speech, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia outline several policies and initiatives designed and tailored to tackle all the sectors in the country. These Bold Solutions will seek to address the issues and problems in the country serving as lasting Panacea Ghanaians have been waiting for. Under Education, Dr. Bawumia outlined these six unique initiatives to tackle the issues affecting the educational sector.

 

 

1.A growth mindset curriculum to help students build critical skills such as problem-solving, risk-taking, opportunity spotting, and design thinking.

This policy is a unique one that will enable students to be critical and deep thinkers, giving the opportunity to leverage on technology to be creative enough in solving societal problems by coming up with lasting panaceas.

 

2. Enhance the repositioning of the education system towards STEM, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, and vocational skills to cope with the demands of the fourth Industrial Revolution and job creation.

This policy is designed to give students the opportunity to be great thinkers through artificial intelligence, equipping them with enough skills, knowledge and understanding to be creative enough by setting up businesses which in tern can bring about employment.

 

3. Train 1 million youth in IT skills

This policy will help over one million youth by equipping them with knowledge and skills in IT. This will help them to be abreast with current trends and demands from global institutions. IT and digitalization is defining the new era and so this will help students to gain more knowledge in IT and will enable them to compete globally with the advance world. Since Dr. Bawumia’s digitalization policies is tailored to improve the economy, students can contribute massively to this area and help in developing and transforming the country.

 

4.Recruit 1,000 special education teachers

Under this policies, the Dr. Bawumia government will recruit one thousand special teachers to educate students from the kindergarten level to the tertiary level to aid students to have different set of skills to enable them to compete in the job market with the advance countries. Special Teachers will be recruited to specially educated students on specific areas to enable them have enough knowledge and understand in that area to be able to help in developing the country. Recruitment of teachers for this unique initiative means more employment in the education sector which will reduce the employment rate drastically.

5.Train more therapists for special needs students

Under this policy more therapist will be trained to help students in their academics. Students with special needs will benefit from this initiative. The issue of students with special needs have been a subject for years and this initiative seeks to solve that problem and give these students the opportunity to explore, learn and unlearn and to also have a great future. This policy goes a long way to affirm Dr. Bawumia’s call for inclusiveness in his government.

 

6.National service exemption for employed graduates

This policy will give Tertiary students who are done with school the opportunity to chose to either do their national service or opt to go straight into the job market. This policy seeks to give students the free will to chose to do their national service or not, meaning under the Dr. Bawumia’s government National Service or service to the nation will optional for tertiary students.
