Sam Pyne, the Mayor of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, has voiced his confidence in a high voter turnout for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming general elections, pointing to strong grassroots support for the party’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
During an interview on Eyewitness News on Monday, November 4, Pyne expressed optimism about the turnout in the Ashanti Region, stating that communities throughout the area have shown genuine enthusiasm and support for Dr. Bawumia whenever he visits.
The warmth and backing for Dr. Bawumia reflect a deep grassroots commitment to the NPP’s vision for Ghana,
he commented.
With over a decade of experience as regional secretary, Pyne emphasized his connection to the grassroots, noting,
I am deeply involved at the community level, and as the mayor of Kumasi, I interact with the people directly. I’m confident that millions will turn out to vote for the NPP on election day.
He continued,
When you see people eagerly coming from their homes, rushing to meet the Vice President, that’s not superficial respect—it’s genuine support.
Having been in politics since 1992, I can recognize true organic support as opposed to surface-level enthusiasm. Mark my words, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will be the President of Ghana come January 2025.
