The Paramount Chief of Yeji in the Bono East Region, Pimanim Yaw Kabrese V, has expressed confidence that NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is on track to secure victory in the upcoming elections, attributing it to the achievements of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration.
Speaking about the NPP’s performance over the past eight years, Pimanim Kabrese V commended Dr. Bawumia and his party for their significant contributions to national development. He noted that their policies have positively impacted the lives of many Ghanaians across the country.
He emphasized that the people of his Traditional Area, as well as other regions, are likely to reward the NPP and Dr. Bawumia at the polls in December. In a light-hearted remark, he claimed that even the fish in the local rivers are eager to cast their votes for Dr. Bawumia.
The chief made these remarks when Dr. Bawumia visited his palace in Yeji on Friday, October 18, during his campaign tour of the Pru East Constituency in the Bono East Region.
During the visit, Dr. Bawumia thanked the chiefs and residents for their warm reception. He highlighted the NPP’s focus on development, which he said aims to promote equitable growth across the nation. He pointed to initiatives such as the Free SHS and Free TVET programs, the Agenda 111 hospital project, the provision of road construction equipment to every district, and the construction of district courts to strengthen justice and the rule of law.
Dr. Bawumia also emphasized the importance of trade in national development, noting Yeji’s long history of commerce. He promised that a Bawumia-led government would build a major market in every district to boost trade. Additionally, he pledged to introduce a Women’s Trade Empowerment Fund to provide loans and financial support to market women, further enhancing local economies.
