As the New Patriotic Party (NPP) prepares for the upcoming 2024 elections, the party’s presidential candidate and current Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has escalated his campaign efforts in the Eastern Region.
During a pivotal event in Asuogyaman, Dr. Bawumia addressed a substantial audience, outlining his vision for a digital economy and encouraging voters to lend their support to him and the NPP’s parliamentary candidates.
He emphasized the progress achieved in the digitization of vital services, highlighting the convenience introduced by initiatives such as the Ghana Card and the digitalization of birth certificates.
If a child is born today, they’re privileged to have two documents: a Ghana card and a birth certificate number. We have completed the pilot phase and will now move to the schools to register children as young as six years old.
In contemplating his time as Vice President, Dr. Bawumia conveyed assurance in his capacity to accomplish greater achievements should he be elected as President.
All the work I have done so far has been as Vice President. I believe if I’m elected President, I will do more.
Furthermore, Dr. Bawumia reaffirmed the NPP’s dedication to ensuring security and the ‘One District, One Factory’ initiative, highlighting the party’s commitment to promoting economic development and stability throughout the nation.
