Mrs. Irene Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, Executive Chairperson of the Sompahemaa Foundation and wife of Suame MP, has urged industrious and forward-thinking women to support Dr. Bawumia’s 2024 campaign.
She emphasized that this campaign represents a significant sacrifice aimed at securing a better future for girls.
Her appeal came during a visit to the Ashanti Region, where she joined Second Lady Hajia Samira Bawumia in promoting the message of her husband, the Vice President and NPP flagbearer for the upcoming elections.
Mrs. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu asserted that education is the cornerstone of development. She pointed out that to improve the circumstances of vulnerable groups, particularly women and children, there is an urgent need for policies that promote sustainable job opportunities, as outlined in the 2030 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
She believes the current NPP administration has delivered exceptional infrastructure development across various sectors of the Ghanaian economy, which, if maintained, could provide a solid foundation for sustainable growth for all.
As a trained teacher, nurse, and philanthropist, her commitment to restoring hope to the vulnerable is fueled by the many people seeking assistance from her husband, Hon. Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu, daily. She urged Ghanaian women to recognize the importance of helping others achieve financial stability and to vote for Dr. Bawumia and the NPP to protect the free education policy.
She encouraged all women to give their “widow’s mite” in various ways, aiming to create a lasting legacy for future generations. Mrs. Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu concluded that
Education indeed can provide the bigger basket from which every individual would tap for success
As aptly stated by Dr. Bawumia in his vision statement and Manifesto.
