FORMER PRESIDENT JOHN AGYEKUM KUFUOR HAS CRITIZE DEMOCRACY HUB PROTESTERS

Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has denounced the violent actions exhibited by certain protesters during the recent Democracy Hub demonstration in Accra, urging that those responsible for such offenses should face legal consequences.

In a discussion with Angel FM, a radio station based in Accra, Kufuor highlighted the necessity of maintaining a balance between the citizens’ right to protest and the need for accountability regarding unlawful conduct.

The Democracy Hub protests, which occurred in Accra and inspired similar demonstrations in New York, were overshadowed by incidents of property damage and obstruction of roadways.

Ex-President Kufuor asserted that assaults on police officers and vandalism of property are intolerable and must be dealt with by the law.

If you attack a police officer or take away their car key, you must face the law or be punished. We can’t let them go scot-free.

Kufuor also championed a collective effort to combat galamsey, underscoring its detrimental effects on Ghana’s water resources and the health of its citizens.

He stressed the importance of a comprehensive strategy to safeguard Ghana’s natural heritage, which includes forests, water bodies, and climatic conditions.
