GHANA TO DIGITALIZE LAND REGISTRY TO ENHANCE TRANSPARENCY AND ACCESS TO CREDIT – DR. BAWUMIA

Ghana’s Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has announced a major initiative to digitalize the country’s land registry and titling process, a move aimed at modernizing land ownership management, reducing disputes, and enhancing transparency. This digital transformation is expected to significantly improve access to credit for individuals and businesses.

Speaking at the International Youth Day celebration held at the Pentecost Convention Center in Kasoa, Dr. Bawumia outlined the benefits of the new digital land registry system.

“With this system, anyone will be able to access information on land ownership with just a click on their mobile phone. No more disputes, no more litigation, no more land guards. This is a critical step towards modernizing our land registration system and making it more efficient,” he noted.

The Vice President emphasized that the digitalization of the land registry is a key component of the government’s broader digitalization strategy, which aims to leverage technology to drive economic growth, improve public safety, and enhance the overall quality of life for Ghanaians.

By reducing the challenges associated with land ownership and management, this initiative is expected to create a more transparent and reliable system, encouraging investment and economic development across the country.
