GHANA TO HOST INAUGURAL ERA E-MOBILITY CONFERENCE WITH MINISTER DR. MATTHEW OPOKU PREMPEH LEADING

Ghana is set to host the first-ever Electric Revolution Africa (ERA) E-Mobility Conference in Accra from July 9th to 10th, 2024. Organized by the Energy Quest Foundation in partnership with the United Nations and Ghana’s Ministry of Energy, Transport, Environment Science & Technology, this ground-breaking event will take place at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel.

While he will not be participating directly, it is clear that Dr. Bawumia’s policies and initiatives have laid the foundation for the country’s strides in sustainable development and technological innovation. His efforts in enhancing digital infrastructure and driving economic transformation set the stage for Ghana’s leadership in embracing green technologies like e-mobility.

Themed “The New ERA: Innovation and Sustainability,” the conference aims to accelerate Africa’s energy transition and promote sustainable economic growth through e-mobility. It will foster collaboration among stakeholders to address policy challenges and explore opportunities in the electric vehicle (EV) sector.

The two-day conference will feature engaging dialogues, exhibitions, networking sessions, and an Electric Vehicle Experience showcasing advanced EV technologies. It will bring together policymakers, development partners, industry leaders, and stakeholders to drive advancements in electric mobility across Africa.

Discussions will focus on environmental sustainability, climate change mitigation, strategies for promoting electric mobility in Africa, and opportunities for trade and investments within the EV industry.

Leading the event will be Ghana’s Minister of Energy, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, highlighting his expertise and commitment to advancing Ghana’s e-mobility sector and leveraging it for sustainable economic growth.

The Energy Quest Foundation, known for promoting clarity in the energy sector and fostering sustainability, has championed initiatives empowering women, youth, and promoting a just energy transition in Africa.

The ERA E-Mobility Conference marks a pivotal moment for Africa’s transition to sustainable energy solutions. With Minister Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh’s leadership and Ghana’s proactive stance, including the foundational policies championed by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the conference aims to elevate Africa’s e-mobility industry, drive economic growth, innovation, and job creation across the continent.
