Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has expressed his gratitude to God for securing the top position on the ballot for the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
Dr. Bawumia achieved this favorable position after the representative of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) drew the highly coveted number twice during a balloting event conducted by the Electoral Commission.
While addressing the congregation of the Church of Pentecost in Breman Asikuma, located in the Central Region, Dr. Bawumia credited this outcome to divine intervention.
there are so many things men cannot do but we believe God can do everything. There is nothing God cannot do…whatever we do, we have to put our faith and trust in God. Once we put our trust in God, things will go well.
Two days ago, we went for the balloting to select the order of the ballot for voting. We prayed to the Lord and we believe that God listened to our prayers. God gave us the number one position, so we are grateful to God.
The representative of the NPP initially secured the first position during the voting process; however, this was subsequently annulled following protests from NDC representatives regarding the procedure, leading to intense discussions that persisted for thirty minutes.
Despite the NDC’s proposal to nullify the results, the NPP representatives remained steadfast and, once order was restored, they unexpectedly reclaimed the first position.
In light of these developments, numerous Ghanaians have characterized Dr. Bawumia’s attainment of the first position as a matter of divine intervention.
