Former National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwart Samuel Koku Anyidoho has expressed optimism about Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s chances in the upcoming presidential election on December 7.
Drawing comparisons between Bawumia and former President John Mahama, Anyidoho emphasized the potential for Bawumia to chart his own course despite any challenges he might face.
“If John Mahama took over from President Atta-Mills and vigorously pursued his own vision (albeit to his massive loss in 2016), it is also possible for Veep Bawumia to pursue a positive vision of Possible Possibilities. Ghana First,” Anyidoho remarked, suggesting that Bawumia, like Mahama, could establish a distinct leadership style and identity.
Reflecting on Mahama’s political journey, Anyidoho noted how Mahama assumed the presidency following the untimely passing of John Evans Atta-Mills. Despite the challenging circumstances, Mahama managed to shift the narrative, taking control of the country’s leadership and shaping his own political path.
“The key is for Bawumia to seize this moment and present a clear vision that resonates with Ghanaians,” Anyidoho urged.
He believes that by promoting a forward-thinking agenda—referred to as “Possible Possibilities” – Bawumia can inspire hope and confidence among the electorate.
