Asamoah Gyan, the former captain of the Black Stars, expressed his gratitude for being appointed to the NPP manifesto committee, stating that it will allow him to contribute his expertise to sports development in Ghana.
Gyan was selected in February of this year to lead the youth and sports sub-committee of the ruling party’s 2024 manifesto committee. His appointment not only showcases his desire to enhance the sports sector, but also provides him with a special chance to guide the nation’s sports direction.
During an interview on Asaase FM on Tuesday (25 June), Gyan emphasized that his involvement in the NPP manifesto committee is beneficial for the country.
I thought this was a great honour. I am not a politician, if the National Democratic Congress (NDC) came, I would have done the same thing, but they didn’t see it from that angle and NPP saw it and contacted me.
It’s a great honor for me and I was happy and poised to do it wholeheartedly, it’s for Ghana, but in Ghana, everything is related to politics.
