I AM DEDICATED TO ENSURING PEACEFUL ELECTIONS – DR. BAWUMIA

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate representing the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has reiterated his dedication to facilitating a peaceful electoral process in Ghana.

This commitment was expressed during a meeting with former Nigerian President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, who was at the Jubilee House leading a delegation from the West African Elders Forum (WAEF).

The WAEF, established by the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation, aims to foster democracy, peace, and security within the West African region. Dr. Jonathan’s delegation, which included H.E. Kadre Desire Quadraago, the former President of the ECOWAS Commission, is currently in Ghana on a mission to advocate for peaceful elections.

Dr. Bawumia highlighted Ghana’s standing as one of the most tranquil nations in the region and reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining this peace and stability.

This pledge is consistent with his earlier remarks, where he emphasized that the pursuit of political power should not hinder national progress.

The NPP has a history of upholding peaceful electoral practices, with Bawumia reiterating this commitment during numerous public forums. In April 2024, he called upon Ghanaians to ensure a peaceful electoral process during the 13th Annual Night of Power.
