I am encouraged by GUTA’s positive reaction to my policy proposals, especially the tax amnesty and flat tax and container rates proposals, which are aimed at creating a friendly environment for businesses to thrive.
I also explained to GUTA in detail, my proposed business-friendly tax reforms, including the game-changing tax amnesty and flat tax rates for businesses and individuals, flat-rate duties on containers, as well as benchmarking our import duties with Togo, to ensure uniformity and also eliminate smuggling.
I held fruitful interaction with members of the Ghana Union of Traders’ Association (GUTA), who embraced my proposed tax reforms, expressed some of their business concerns to me, and also made some insightful suggestions for consideration by my government in 2025, God willing. I am as well grateful to the leadership and members of GUTA, for the open, frank and fruitful engagement. Together, we shall make Ghana one of the most business-friendly countries in the world. It is possible!!!
