Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, firmly believes in his ability to make a positive contribution to Ghana. He is confident that with divine intervention, he can be guided towards achieving this goal.
During his campaign tour in the Western region, Dr. Bawumia took the opportunity to connect with the religious community by meeting with the clergy in Takoradi on Thursday, May 2nd. This meeting served as a platform for him to express his thoughts and beliefs on various issues that were of concern to both the clergy and the general public.
I believe that I can do something for Ghana. I believe God uses everybody that he wants to use to change society…I believe that something good can come from Walewale and if God says that it should come from Walewale it will come from Walewale.
In addition, he urged the clergy to intervene and safeguard the nation’s peace from being jeopardized by politicians for their personal interests. Dr. Bawumia further emphasized that his reverence for all faiths was ingrained in him since childhood.
Consequently, he made a commitment to work closely with the church in order to tackle various developmental obstacles that the country is currently facing.
