Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia emphasized his extensive track record, highlighting that he spearheaded and championed 33 innovative policies while serving as Vice President under the Akufo-Addo administration.
In contrast, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate pointed out that his opponent, John Mahama, cannot point to a single policy he initiated during his time as Vice President and President.
Dr Bawumia contended that this achievement showcases his competence and presents a compelling argument for his candidacy for President of the Republic in the forthcoming December 7, 2024, elections.
These statements were made during his address to NPP members in the United Kingdom at a fundraising dinner dance organized in collaboration with the Young Executives Forum (YEF) at the Landmark London Hotel on Saturday, June 22, 2024.
The primary goal of the event was to raise funds from NPP-UK members to bolster Dr Bawumia’s 2024 campaign. He stressed the importance of his accomplishments and encouraged the audience to view his performance as a basis for endorsing his presidential bid.
Dr Bawumia’s speech was intended to rally support and secure financial assistance for the upcoming election campaign.
Most people say I have been the most impactful Vice President in the history of Ghana, and that is based on my performance. If you look at the policies I have initiated and championed in the last 8 years, you can count 33 policies.”

So, when it comes to the work of a Vice President, I have passed the exams, so I should be promoted as president of the Republic of Ghana.
