The Omanhene of Akomadan, Nana Boakye Akuamoah Boateng II, shared how he was deeply moved by the remarkable kindness shown by Vice President and NPP presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, a few years ago.
Around four years back, Dr. Bawumia responded compassionately to a documentary highlighting the heartbreaking situation of an 82-year-old leprosy patient who had been abandoned and was living in a dilapidated mud house with her granddaughter.
Dr. Bawumia extended his support to the elderly woman by building a new home for her in Motori, located in the Wa West district of the Upper West Region.
I shed tears when Dr. Bawumia went to the rescue of a poor woman. This woman was a very poor woman living in a dilapidated building but Bawumia saw her plight and said he will build a house for her. It touched my heart and I said, this is a leader
How Bawumia was able to reach out to this poor woman and built a house for her was really touching. I was really touched…You (Bawumia) are kind. You are a kind and compassionate man who ought to lead this country
