I WILL SET UP MECHANIZATION CENTERS IN EVERY DISTRICT TO ENHANCE AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTIVITY – BAWUMIA

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has announced a key initiative aimed at revolutionizing Ghana’s agricultural sector by establishing mechanization centers in every district across the country.

Bawumia highlighted that this initiative would be a central pillar of his administration’s focus on addressing the needs and concerns of farmers if he is elected president in the upcoming December 7 polls.

Speaking at a campaign rally in Juapong, Volta Region, Bawumia acknowledged the long-standing challenges faced by farmers in Ghana and expressed his commitment to easing their burdens by providing essential support and resources to help them expand their operations.

The NPP’s presidential candidate underscored the vital role agriculture plays in Ghana’s economy and the livelihoods of millions of citizens in his address.

Bawumia also highlighted the crucial role of irrigation systems in modernizing agriculture, particularly in areas affected by drought and unpredictable rainfall.

He recognized that a significant number of farmers in Ghana depend on rainfall for their crops, which leaves them vulnerable to shifting weather patterns and the impacts of climate change. To tackle this issue, he pledged to prioritize the development of irrigation infrastructure, ensuring that farmers can grow their crops year-round, independent of the rainy season.

We are going to help the farmers. I want to focus on agriculture. Our farmers need help. They need irrigation. They need equipment. They need tractors. They need combined harvesters. They need planters. I am going to set up a district mechanisation centre in every district in Ghana. Our farmers will have the equipment to farm
