The presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has reaffirmed his conviction that the Almighty God governs the affairs of humanity and enables all possibilities.
During his address to a congregation at a Catholic Church in Atimatim, located in the Afigya Kwabre East Constituency, on Sunday, as part of his constituency tour, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of faith.
With God, all things are possible.
Dr. Bawumia underscored his unwavering faith in God and his commitment to seeking divine favor consistently.
Unless God builds the house, you labour in vain.
Dr. Bawumia’s citation of a biblical passage garnered significant applause from the Christian attendees, who found it remarkable and commendable that a Muslim would acknowledge the Bible in such a manner.
Notably, Dr. Bawumia’s attendance at the Catholic Church facilitated a gathering of the two predominant religious groups in the nation, Christians and Muslims, under one roof.
Several Imams and Zongo Chiefs from the constituency participated alongside the Clergy and traditional leaders in the church service. The Imams, Clergy, and traditional leaders expressed their joy at the harmonious relationship among them, particularly as the Imams engaged in the church service.
Dr. Bawumia also praised both Muslims and Christians for their demonstration of unity, emphasizing that this exemplifies the peace and solidarity present in the country.
There is peace and understanding between Muslims and Christians in Ghana and it is one of the reasons we have peace.
It is so beautiful to see Imams here in this Chapel. This reflects our mutual understanding and respect for each other. You will hardly see this anywhere in the world but this is happening in Ghana one”, Bawumia stated and charged the groups to “continue to leave in harmony and continue to respect one another.
