Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has stated that Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) Flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has not lobbied him to advocate on his behalf in the lead-up to the 2024 elections.
In a live interview with journalists from major media outlets, Mr. Kufuor responded to a question from Kwame Adinkra of Pure FM regarding why he believes Dr. Bawumia is the ideal candidate to lead Ghana.
The former President highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s impressive track record as an economist, pointing out his significant contributions to Ghana’s economic development even before becoming Vice President.
Kufuor emphasized that Dr. Bawumia’s in-depth knowledge of the economy and his capability in handling complex financial issues make him a formidable candidate for the presidency.
He concluded by stressing that Dr. Bawumia is the right person to lead Ghana at this crucial point in the nation’s progress.
He stated that the country needs a leader with the vision, experience, and technical skills to propel the nation forward, particularly given the current economic challenges.
Dr Bawumia’s understanding of economics and his innovative policies have made him stand out. His leadership ideologies align with the aspirations of every Ghanaian. I firmly believe he has what it takes to elevate this country.
