KWABENA OWUSU ADUOMI REJOINS THE NPP AFTER RESOLVING PAST ISSUES.

Failed independent parliamentary candidate Kwabena Owusu Aduomi has decided to rejoin the New Patriotic Party (NPP) following his reconciliation with the NPP’s Ashanti Regional Council of Elders on Monday, August 5, 2024.

Mr. Owusu Aduomi lost his bid for the Ejisu parliamentary seat to private legal practitioner Francis Kwabena Boateng on Tuesday, April 30. This by-election was held due to the unfortunate passing of the former MP, Mr. John Kumah.

Aduomi, a former three-term NPP MP for the constituency, ran as an independent candidate in the Ejisu by-election due to what he viewed as the NPP’s failure to address critical issues with the existing delegates’ list, which he believed compromised the party’s integrity and fairness. Some NPP members accused him of betrayal and suggested he had defected to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

In a statement released by the Ashanti Regional Council of Elders on Tuesday, August 6, Mr. Aduomi promised to work on bringing his supporters back to the party.

Engineer Owusu Aduomi responded positively to the Council of Elders’ outreach and attended a meeting to discuss past issues openly and honestly. He joyfully announced his unconditional return to the party, emphasizing his deep-rooted connection to the NPP. He pledged to engage with his supporters and reintegrate them into the party. Following the by-election, NPP National Chairman Stephen Ntim committed to reconciling Mr. Kwabena Owusu Aduomi with the party.
