Managing Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jr. has expressed his utmost admiration for the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration’s significant investment in the education sector of the country.
Mr. Pratt asserted in his submissions during a panel discussion on Peace FM’s morning show program, Kokrokoo, hosted by Kwami Sefa Kayi, that he was surprised to learn about the massive investment and transforming in the education sector by the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia government.
I have chanced on some information that points to the fact that a lot is going on in the education sector. I know what I am talking about and Kwami, you know that I do not talk without facts. A lot is happening, and the construction of new science laboratories is also ongoing.
He however noted that he doesn’t understand why the government has failed to bring these developments to the public domain.
This morning I was enquiring from Nana Akomea why the government has made all these massive investments in the country’s education sector but very little is heard about them.
Mr. Pratt emphasized the difficulties within the education sector and established that the government investment in the education sector is gradually yielding results because there has been a lot of improvement in students’ performance.
The education sector undoubtedly has challenges that we all read and know about but if you look at the construction of new science laboratories going on across the country, it explains why examination results in the sciences have greatly improved and I think this is what the government should be talking about.
Mr. Pratt highlighted the widely recognized economic challenges, stressing their commonality. Despite this, he expressed his surprise and admiration for the achievements of the Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration in the education sector. He suggested that the government should enhance its communication of these accomplishments.
