The Director of Communications for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has characterized former President John Dramani Mahama as the “biblical wicked and lazy servant” referenced in the parable found in Matthew 25:14-30.
During a press conference on November 27, Mr. Ahiagbah criticized Mahama’s administration, asserting that he did not fulfill the expectations placed upon him during his time in office.
Consequently, he contends that Mahama should not be granted another opportunity in the upcoming December elections. In contrast, Ahiagbah praised the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as a.
good and faithful servant” who has “served Ghana well and deserves commendation and reward.
He urged Ghanaians to secure a decisive victory for the NPP, claiming that such an outcome would effectively end Mr. Mahama’s political career.
His Excellency John Dramani Mahama is the example of the biblical wicked and lazy servant who did not live up to expectations in his four years as president of this Republic. Ladies and gentlemen like the master in Matthew 25, Ghanaians must vote on December 7 to cast him out as done in 2016 and 2020.
Mr. Ahiagbah further asserted that Mr. Mahama should be dismissed due to the considerable difficulties experienced during his four-year presidency, which included severe economic hardships and ongoing power outages referred to as ‘dumsor’, among other notable issues.
He also contended that Mahama neglected the needs of Ghanaians during a time of economic mismanagement, leading to widespread public protests calling for improved governance.
The balance of a leader’s job is dealing with challenges but from what we have seen from the former president, he has shown that he cannot deal with challenges. Therefore, on December 7, we must vote to show the former president, John Mahama and the NDC that we the people of Ghana cannot afford the risk of electing a president who cannot respond to our needs in challenging times.
