Vice President and presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has called on party members to remain united and focused in order to secure a strong victory in the upcoming December elections.
Speaking to thousands of supporters in Nkawkaw during his campaign tour on Saturday, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the importance of voting for both the presidential and parliamentary candidates. He stated, “It is as important to vote for your parliamentary candidate as it is to vote for me” to ensure the NPP secures a majority in the next Parliament.
He pointed out the current challenges in Parliament due to the close numbers, saying, “You have all seen what has been happening in Parliament with the close numbers, 137/137, and that is worrying, so we don’t want a repeat of that.”
Despite this, Dr. Bawumia expressed confidence in the party’s prospects, stating, “If the elections are held today, the NPP will have a decisive majority.” He reaffirmed, “There is no doubt about it,” underscoring that the NPP majority in Parliament will be “a decisive majority.”
He concluded by urging continued efforts, reminding party members that the election will take place on December 7.
“If it continues like this and we all come together, by midnight on December 7, all of you will hear that the NPP has a decisive majority in Parliament,” Dr. Bawumia assured the crowd.
