MAHAMA TO RETIRE AFTER 2024 ELECTIONS, GHANAIANS SHOULDN’T VOTE FOR HIM – DR. BAWUMIA

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has called upon Ghanaians to reject John Mahama in the forthcoming 2024 general elections.

He contended that a presidency under Mahama would be limited to a single four-year term, rendering him unaccountable to the electorate as he would not pursue re-election.

Dr. Bawumia expressed these views during his visit to the Eastern Region, where he has been interacting with local constituents, traditional leaders, and religious figures.

He underscored the necessity of electing a leader who is committed to serving a full term and accountable to the populace. Dr. Bawumia pointed out that Mr. Mahama, who would be retiring after the elections, would lack the motivation to fulfill his promises, as he would not be seeking another term. Consequently, Dr. Bawumia urged Ghanaians to refrain from voting for Mahama in the upcoming election.

If we vote for former president Mahama, he can only become president for four years. Four years and that is it. He doesn’t have to come back for another election. You wouldn’t see him again in Lower Manya Krobo, he won’t come back, he’ll just take the presidency and it’s bye-bye, honeymoon and it’s retirement.

The flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has toured multiple constituencies in the Eastern Region, such as Akropong, Asuogyaman, Lower Manya Krobo, and Yilo Krobo.

His campaign strategy has emphasized direct engagement with the community, including door-to-door interactions and discussions with both traditional and religious leaders.

In one of his interactions, Dr. Bawumia committed to supplying a bus for Krobo Girls Senior High School, a promise that was warmly received by the students.
