MAHAMA’S FAILURE TO RENOVATE BOLE BAMBOI UNDERMINES HIS TRUSTWORTHINESS – OBIRI YEBOAH

Nana Obiri Boahen, the former Deputy General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has urged Ghanaians to reflect on John Dramani Mahama’s place of origin as they prepare to vote for a new leader.

He emphasized that despite Mahama’s experience as both Vice President and President, he failed to improve the conditions of his hometown.

In Boahen’s view, this lack of action demonstrates a level of selfishness that disqualifies Mahama from leading the nation.

Here you have somebody as a president saying Free Senior High School is impossible. He sponsored adverts. Someone comes and implements Free Senior High School. As President, you said free SHS is impossible; if we were not in Africa, do you think Mahama has the moral, legal, and constitutional right to lead a political party?

John Mahama’s hometown, Bole Bamboi is still a district. John Mahama has been Vice President and President but could not elevate them to a municipal level. It is inhuman for John Mahama to be president when Bole Bamboi did not receive any facelift to become a municipal.

In response to calls for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to abolish the E-levy due to his position in government, Nana Obiri Boahen defended Dr. Bawumia’s inability to eliminate certain taxes considered burdensome to the citizens of Ghana, asserting that such actions can only be taken once he assumes the presidency.

At any point in time, it is the President. Bawumia can just say he does not agree with the e-levy but the constitution says the Cabinet assists, so where lies the fact that Bawumia has been honest and fair with Ghanaians?.
