Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has once again criticized former President John Mahama, alleging that his tenure led the nation into a state of total darkness, commonly referred to as ‘Dumsor’.
He contends that the administration of John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was marked by significant mismanagement and ineffective policies, which failed to ensure a reliable power supply necessary for the enhancement of business operations.
Due to the mismanagement by the NDC, Dr. Prempeh, also known as ‘Napo’, stated that Ghanaians, particularly those in the business sector, experienced considerable hardships.
Ghanaians only remember John Mahama for his infamous ‘Dumsor.
The only thing that John Mahama bequeathed to Ghanaians as president, is frequent power cuts so we only remember him for his ‘Dumsor.
The Vice Presidential Candidate of the NPP addressed supporters at Akyem Topremeng in the Akwatia Constituency within the Eastern Region on Monday, as part of his nationwide campaign efforts to garner support for the NPP in the upcoming elections.
Napo reflected on the period of John Mahama’s presidency, stating that the cost of doing business escalated, resulting in the collapse of many enterprises that could not cope with the abrupt economic challenges, which in turn led to significant job losses across the nation.
He emphasized that it required a capable, courageous, and forward-thinking leader like President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to effectively resolve the ‘Dumsor’ crisis, thereby alleviating the hardships faced by Ghanaians.
He strongly warned the electorate about the risks associated with re-electing the inept NDC, asserting that John Mahama has failed to learn from past mistakes and would inevitably falter again if he were to regain the presidency.
He noted that he has been attentively observing John Mahama’s recent campaign speeches, and he finds that Mahama is not presenting any new ideas.
it’s the same old John Mahama that we all know. The originator of the ‘Dumsor’ debacle.
From his narrations, you can see that he has not changed, so if we make a mistake and give him political power again, he will mismanaged the country and also bring back ‘Dumsor’ to destroy businesses and deepen hardships once again.
Napo described Dr. Bawumia as a visionary leader who embodies patriotism and diligence. He expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s commitment to work tirelessly as president to guide the nation towards a prosperous future.
Consequently, he urged the electorate to support Dr. Bawumia and all parliamentary candidates from the NPP.
